Work Experience Nhs

Heather Said:

What qualifications & experience are needed to work as a Clinical Coder in the NHS or BUPA??

We Answered:

try asking their human resources departments.

Sylvia Said:

Can I apply as a student nurse to work for NHS Professionals?

We Answered:

You can work for them as a bank HCA. I'm also a student nurse, I work as a bank HCA for extra money & extra experience. I work in all departments of the hospital & I find it very useful. I do take shifts on the paeds & in mental health as well because although I'm adult branch I feel it's important to experience working in branches other than my own. I'll likely come into contact with kids & mentally unwell people wherever my career takes me so the experience is useful. Not only that, I need the money & if that's where the shifts are then I take them. You might find you get offered more shifts on adult wards rather than paeds purely because they come up more often. The experience will still be useful to you & more to the point, so will the money.

I don't work for NHS Professionals myself as I was employed directly by the hospital that I do my placements in. I found my hca job via this site. http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/

Bear in mind that it will be very unlikely you would get work experience with a psychologist/hospital at your age. There are too many ethical issues, especially since they can't make you sign a confidentiality agreement since you're too young. Have back-up suggestions so you don't end up some place you're really not interested in (perhaps experience in a learning disabilities school/nursery, for example) then in Year 13, ask your careers advisor or guidance teacher if they can help arrange a psychology placement.

Kelly Said:

Can I go to a hospital for work experience? (UK)?

We Answered:

Yeah you can, 2 of my friends when to the Norfolk & Norwich general hospital in Norwich for their work experience. Talk to your school about it or ring your local hospital. The only thing i'd say is that my friends found it quite boring tbh, because you can't actually do anything, apart from like make tea etc. Its 100% observation. Goodluck :)
