Work Experience Nz

Brent Said:

I'd like ('cause I need it) to work in the Pacific region (NZ, mainly), how shall I proceed?

We Answered:

Hola amigo,
sorry, I can speak Spanish but not Portuguese. Quite a few Brazilian people work here in New Zealand as fruit pickers. It's easier to get a temporary work permit in that industry here than for most jobs because there's usually a shortage of fruit pickers. So write to the New Zealand embassy in Brasilia and ask about fruit picking. Another possibility is WOOFing; that is working on organic farms in exchange for your board. When you arrive here you could go round the pubs and ask for work. Central Otago, in the South Island near where I live is a good place to look for work in both fruit picking and the hospitality industry. The tourist resorts of Queenstown and Wanaka need hotel workers.

Self employed applying for NZ / Australian permanent residency proof of work experience ?

We Answered:

Your first step is to prove your actual trade qualifications, so you'll need details of your training and a copy of your trade certificate or whatever you were given when you finished your apprenticeship or training course. Beyond that, you must be able to somehow prove your experience - invoices, testimonials, etc. The FAQs on the TRA website set out the type of thing you will need. If you can't supply them to their satisfaction (or the VETASSESS's satisfaction if that's who you must go through), you won't pass and that's that.

is it possible to work in NZ/Canada as an RN without any hospital experience (like totally a fresh graduate)??

We Answered:

You would be highly welcome. My city is currently looking for 50 (fifty) nurses, and they are even trying to get retired nurses to come back to work. You would be snapped up like this.
It is customary for new nurses to start as trainees. My wife trains them, she is an RN from the UK with German training and registration in all three countries.
All you need to do is register with the nursing council and get your papers accredited. Initiate contact here:

And you need to take care of your visa, which can be done conveniently here:

As for which country is better - hm, difficult to say. I have lived in both, and I love both. The main difference in experiencing life in the two countries is in the flavour of it:
Canada is an essentially North American living experience, if with a distinct, northerly poise and a gentleness that sets it apart from life in the US.
New Zealand is a quirky, colourful, South Pacific style living experience with a complexity of mentality and a pace that is a lot more bubbly than that of Canada.
It will come down to "which one of the two will you still like in a few years' time?"
My money is on New Zealand. You can do more different things in a day here than you could in Canada, because the country is small. I can go sailing and mountaineering here on the same day if I wish, in landscapes that seem worlds apart. And then there's the long, grey Canadian winters. Here, they are green.

Good luck, hoping to see you here soon. Choose wisely.

What are the best places to work in New Zealand?

We Answered:

IF you like travel, you could get into the travel industry...there are correspondence and short and longer hands on fun courses you can do; and if you are a people person, and are enthusiastic about travel...this could be the job for you....
