Work Experience Placements Birmingham

Laurie Said:

work experience help please x?

We Answered:

you can try calling around photo shops or photo studios in your area. you can be like an assistant photographer, or an all-around girl friday (set up appointments) or even do some office work (like filing). good luck.

Kevin Said:

Any opinions on where I could do my work experience?

We Answered:

Try an ad agency too - there's lots of contact and involes many of areas/skills you're hoping to use.

Also think about working at the Apple or Microsoft stores or one of the cell phone providers where you can learn more about customer service and technology.

Good Places for year 10 work experience in Birmingham?

We Answered:

I did my year 10 work experience in a shop in the Birmingham mailbox, which was quite good (:

For you, I suggest you try contacting:

Millennium point/think-tank - for your interest in science
The sea life centre - for animals
The natural history museum - for science, history
The library - for books
Dudley zoo - for the animals
A photographer studio - I know for a fact that there is a photographer called Leonard E Goode in New Oscott because I went for a photo shoot there for my family. Again, it depends on which part of Birmingham you are from, but there will be photographers pretty much anywhere!

Some local newspapers - not sure which area of birmingham you are from, but it's worth a try. However I tried contacting the sutton observer and they said I was too young because some of the stories could be distressing. So this could be the same with other newspapers.

Hope this helps, good luck finding placements! I know it is difficult, but someone will accept you at some point (:

Worried about my graduate prospects?

We Answered:

Don't listen to your jealous friends or try to plan too much; just try your best and you'll be fine. A 2:1 is very adequate for most postgraduate programmes and employers value experience as much as grades anyway. The key is not to overwork yourself!
