First time job seeker: need resume and interview advice!?

We Answered:

Sorry to say you may not get a sparkling answers to this question. Most of the answers you see here would sound cliche and you probably know them already. What you need to do is to impress who are interviewing you. What they are usually looking for is someone honest and independent thinkers to get the job done in a most efficient way. To do that you would need to think outside the boxes and have experiences. Don't try to appear too perfect. As you show your strength also show some of your weaknesses as well. This will allow them to see that you are genuine and reveal that you are not someone so desperate with many hidden lies underneath. Their worst nightmare would be to hire someone that doesn't meet who they claim to be and not meeting their expectation. You should search job interview question on Youtube videos. There are many good ones you can find. Good luck

How to get a job, late 20's, no work experience? Resume help?

We Answered:

You are definitely in a tough situation, especially in this economy. I have 2 suggestions. In order for you to get into a job with an actual company, you need an 'in'. Talk to all your friends and relatives, about where they work, or other people that they know. Maybe you'll luck out with a recommendation. Failing that, you will probably have to stay off the mainstream workforce, at least until you finish school - look for something local and private, like maybe a pet sitting service (if you like animals, and can work to take care of them in their homes while their owners are away.) I've had the same pet sitter and same pet sitting company for my pets for the past 10 years, so it can be done. Good luck.
