Laura Said:
Im 14 with no past work experience - how do I write my resume? We Answered:
You need to write what is called a skills resume. A skills resume includes all the skills you have acquired in your short life span, but some of those skills include things as simple as, able to use the internet and computer literate. Proficient with clerical duties such as answering phones, using copiers and fax machines. Or you can go with your outside duties such as able to maintain a neat and clean yard area. Or even with hygienic abilities, have effectively use cleaning supplies to include the cleanliness of sinks, floors and windows. Use an objective at the top, a summary of self - I am a young and efficient employee who can bring energy etc...to your company. Add your skills in bullets if you like, education and references.Best of luck to you.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can do work experience? We Answered:
I hope you are taking your employer to an ET for the discrimination!I would think there are many many voluntary organisations in Leeds working with young people who could use your skills. Look in the Guardian on Wednesdays for these types of jobs, your local press and New Start Magazine which also has an online version which includes jobs.
Your local Council for Voluntary Service (try Google) may have local vacancies.
Good luck.

Youth Worker? Has anyone got any experience in Youth work or child welfare or similar? We Answered:
you will need to narrow down your field a little bit. There is tons of work in that area. there is work with juv. justice , work with adolescents in mental health settings.which has several categories in itself: addiction, depression, abuse. Then of course you have your regular social work which covers a ton of stuff from mental health to abuse to domestic violence to school problems to beh. problems..ADHD,. Then you have issues with things like teen pregnancy, teen HIV, STD's. There are so many issues and it's hard to narrow it down. There will be days that you feel like you have made no difference at all and some days that you want to throw up your hands and say "screw it but you have to remember that you are dealing with "hormones" and "major drama issues (ie) this is the worst day of my life..I like this boy and he hates me.. SERIOUSLY). along with parents who maybe overprotective or just uncaring and flat out doesn't give a damn. Never assume that a person cannot be helped and the damage is already done. Always have the attitude that "I will do my best and I WILL make a difference..even a small difference in someone's life today".. Always remember that it's often a thankless job and you may not ever hear a person say "thank you for making a difference" but you never know when something you said or did will make an impact on someone that will last the last of their life
